Age: 18-19, in his twenties by the time of the sequel but I am not caught up light novels wise on the series as a whole.

Temperament: Melancholic
Personality:
To arouse, but not lust. To tire, but not sloth. To hunger, but not glutton. This is the description of Tatsuya's nature as a result of the Mental Interference performed upon him in order to create a stellar magician.
He is capable of emotions, but he cannot experience higher tier emotions unless they concern his younger sister Miyuki due to the fact the fear of losing the one person he still manages to have legitimate emotional ties to in his condition is incredibly powerful. While it is not very difficult for him to relearn emotion as well as attachment towards others and forever a long work in progress, it is quite visible at the end of the Yokohama Disturbance Arc alone that he has grown to care for others aside from his sister very deeply when he utilizes Regrowth on others aside from himself. This becomes especially apparent during the Visitor Arc when Leo is hospitalized as a result of his withholding information & suspicions out of a desire to live a quiet life, and he finds himself frustrated with himself as well as guilty in stark comparison to how he would act at the beginning of the series.
He has excellent analytical ability on an objective level, and can typically come to a remarkably accurate conclusion about others in terms of strength or personality even without the aid of his Elemental Sight whether in his everyday life or in combat; His growth as a person has aided in this ability.
Outside of these matters, however--He is typically affable and can manage to keep a cool head at the worst of times sans when the matter of Miyuki's life being in danger comes into main line of concerns. He is known to make teasing comments in so serious a tone that people often do not realize that he is in fact joking until he makes the fact known, as seen as when he teased Mayumi back after she teasingly flirted with him, or when asked what his type of woman was--He responded that Miyuki was his ideal before promptly adding not even a moment after: "Naturally, I'm joking."

The product of experimentation by the Yotsuba family--Tatsuya has been ostracized by the Yotsubas for quite some time now due to being perceived as a 'failure' as a result of his inability to proficiently wield magic that is commonplace and basic.

- Born-Specialized Magician: Decomposition & Reconstruction - Spells such as 'Gram Dispersion' and the like fall beneath the categories of specialization that Tatsuya possesses. The strategic-class spell known as Material Burst also falls beneath this category.
- Cast-Jamming - By utilizing Loop Cast as well as through thorough knowledge of the mechanics of cast jamming, Tatsuya is able to interrupt the casting of magicians through the casting of simultaneous magic sequences.
- High-proficiency close combat - Having been mentored by the famed Kokonoe Yakumo himself, a modern day shinobi; Tatsuya is excellent in close combat even if long-ranged combat is his best strength. Still, though he is a skilled fighter--He is unable to defeat Kokonoe in a pure hand-to-hand brawl, nor is he able to defeat Yanagi.
